Hello world. This blog is being written to document the building of a Catfish by me. Who am I you ask? Well the wizard of course. No really I am just a gear head engineer who finds himself drawn to building things. Whether for work or play I like to have my hands busy building.
Over the years I have wrenched on and ridden most every kind of go fast toy. The affliction started when I was young helping my Dad in the garage on his projects and has not stopped. Jeeps, cars, motorcycles, RVs, and boats. You name it I have wrenched on it.
I received my BA in Ocean Engineering from FAU in 2004. While there I was involved in a number of projects including AUVs and ASVs. After graduation I went to work for the Offshore Oil Industry initially as an engineer and later as a Dry Docking Manager. Now I work with my family operating and managing our family lumber yard. Though I do not get to use my engineering talents as much as I expected when I graduated, I find it ultimately more fulfilling to work for my families interests than for a major corporation.
I restored a 1980 Seabird (North American) C-22 Mariner a few years back. That build was document here -> Seabird Blog
After the Seabird I restored/hot rodded a 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV. That build was document here -> GTV-TS build thread
And now I am on to a hand built car, the Catfish. Follow along if you like and maybe catch the catfish…I mean the bug 😉
Regards,
Miguel
